The England Clubs & Schools U18’s programme is seeking to appoint an Honorary Chairman & Team Manager for the South West Division.
The Chairman/Team Manager will lead the South West U18s Clubs & Schools Divisional Delivery Team, comprising of the Assistant Manager, Coaching Staff (x2), Chairman of Selectors and Medical Staff to achieve the objectives of the U18s Clubs & Schools programme.
The Chairman/Team Manager will oversee the delivery of the Divisional selection process within the budget provided to provide a South West Divisional Squad for talented players from within the Community Game.
The applicant should be generally respected as a person of authority within the game, preferably with a background in Constituent Body rugby. They will demonstrate the organisational and management skills commensurate with such a position, combined with tact and diplomacy.

REPORTS TO: Chairman, England Clubs & Schools U18s National Delivery Team
KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Divisional Delivery Team, RFU employees, CB U18s representatives and
Chairman, Divisional Player Development Forum
NATURE & SCOPE OF JOB:
Lead the relevant U18s Clubs & Schools Divisional Delivery Team, comprising of the Assistant Manager, (where necessary) Coaching Staff, Chairman of Selectors, Medical Staff to achieve the objectives of the U18s Clubs & Schools programme within the Division.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the RFU’s objectives for the England U18s Clubs & Schools are achieved at Divisional level by providing a development programme for players, managers, coaches and selectors.
- Lead and manage relevant U18s Clubs & Schools Divisional Delivery Team in accordance with its Terms of Reference that guides national, divisional & CB U18s representative rugby provision.
- Manage the delivery of the Divisional selection process within the budget provided and in line with the policies laid down by the National Delivery Team and Age Grade Working Group.
- Manage the delivery of the U18s Divisional Team and playing programme including match preparation, travel, accommodation and logistics, playing facilities and equipment, medical support, insurance and media liaison
- Ensure that the coaching and playing squad present themselves as ambassadors for the Rugby Football Union and act within accordance of the Core Values of the sport.
- Attend the meetings of the Divisional Player Development Forum to assist with the development & delivery of the England U18s Clubs & Schools programme within the Division and tracking of players.
- Attend the meetings of the National Delivery Team to assist with the development & delivery of the England U18s Clubs & Schools programme.
- Facilitate an annual review of the programme and appraisal of staff providing a report to the Chairman of the National Delivery Team.

- Management experience of rugby teams at county or divisional levels.
- Commitment to the RFU’s “aspirational” player programme (pathway).
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The post holder is accountable to the Chairman of the National Delivery Team for the successful delivery of the responsibilities as outlined above. The post holder may delegate to the management team, as necessary, any task whilst retaining accountability and responsibility.
The post holder will work closely with relevant RFU professional staff, Chairman of Divisional Player Development Forum and Chairmen of U18s/Playing of the RFU’s County Constituent Bodies.
The term for the position is 2 years subject to annual review
